History on Frosty the Snowman by Reporter A Steele
We all know Frosty the snowman, but where did he come from?
Frosty was created by Jack Nelson and Steve Rollins. It first started out as a song in 1969. It later was created into a T.V. show. The main characters are Frosty and a little girl. The girl struggles to keep Frosty safe while a greedy magician tries to take his magic hat. The song goes like this “Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul. With a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal Frosty the snowman is a fairytale. They say he was made out of snow but the children know how he came to life one day ….” The song was made from the same people the made Rudolph the red nose reindeer.
Jack Nelson was born on Talladega, Alabama, in 1929. Throughout his childhood he moved to Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia. Even though he moved he planted his roots more deeply in Mississippi. He played basketball, football, and boxed on the school team. Jack attended collage at Georgia State. He also attended at Harvard University.
Steve Rollins was born on September 15, 1906. He wrote co-wrote “Here Comes Cottontail.” Steve also wrote “Smokey the Bear.” He co-wrote many country songs for many artists. He sadly died on Jan 1, 1973. Steve was only 66 years old.
Frosty is a good snowman, but where he came form everybody knows!
